  • $8,000 cash for relocation

  • 100% Kansas state income tax waiver through the 2026 tax year (if eligible) 

  • Up to $1,500 a year for five years to help pay off student loan debt (if eligible) 

  • Up to $3,000 in Recruitment Incentive Dollars for qualifying positions in the county 

  • Up to $35,000 in Housing Incentive Dollars for new builds (if eligible) 

  • Property Tax Rebate for new construction and rehab projects (if eligible) 

  • Free admission to Courtland Arts Camp for kids 

  • A lap around the famous Belleville Highbanks Racetrack with a volunteer 

  • An invitation to rock in a rocking chair at the Cuba Rock-A-Thon

  • Tour of Republic County and dinner with a community ambassador

  • Coffee with the Belleville Chamber of Commerce Director and Economic Development Director

  • Tour of the Courtland Irrigation canals 

  • Tour the shops of Agenda, Kansas with Glenda Trecek, business owner and community builder

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements for Republic County

Republic County is currently recruiting remote workers who:

  • Are employed full-time and can relocate while keeping their current position, or
  • Are self-employed and can relocate while keeping their current clients/portfolio
  • Earn at least $50,000 annually
  • Are 18 years or older
  • Currently live outside of Republic County, Kansas
  • Can move their primary residence to Republic County within 6 months
  • Must provide proof of the above eligibility criteria to be considered by Republic County

What is Make My Move?

Make My Move is Republic County’s program to attract remote workers to our community. We provide financial incentives and support to help remote workers relocate to Republic County, Kansas.

Why is Republic County recruiting remote workers?

Remote workers strengthen our local economy and add to our community’s vitality. Republic County created this program to welcome new residents and help them build roots in our area.

What counts as remote work?

Remote work means you can do your job from anywhere with a computer and internet connection. This includes positions like Software Developer, Marketing Specialist, or Accountant. Jobs that require you to be physically present, like Nurse, Teacher, or Restaurant Server, don’t qualify as remote work.

What commitment do I need to make?

You must live in Republic County for at least one year after receiving your incentive. We believe once you experience our community, you’ll want to stay much longer.

Is there any cost to apply?

No. Republic County covers all program costs. Qualified applicants pay nothing to participate.
