Job Overview
Will train the right person! We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. You will work closely with both patients and the dental team to create a welcoming environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control. Front office duties may also be incorporated.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Perform chairside assisting duties while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as required, adhering to safety protocols.
- Record and maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient information efficiently.
- Monitor vital signs and provide support in pediatric dentistry settings.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
- Stay updated with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental clinic or similar healthcare setting is preferred but will train the right person.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is desirable.
- Ability to perform dental imaging.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control measures.
- Experience with 3D scanners is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.
