RCED is going to share a new episode from the Wabash, IN Small Business Revolution – Main Street Series each week. If you missed the first episode click here. Republic County businesses deal with similar issues like the owners of Harry’s Old Kettle Pub & Grill.
My biggest take-away has been that our local businesses can access the same kind of assistance (outside of free money) featured in the show! It’s nice to see the hosts pushing to utilize local vendors and online resources.
We have local signage, graphic design, website developers, and printing companies right here in our county ex: Apple One Media, Purple Splash, McBattas Printing, JenRus Freelance, etc. Businesses can receive help from the Kansas Small Business Development Center and NetWork Kansas’ referral center for business startup assistance online. We have local accounting firms that can help get your books in order. Not to mention RCED just finished up our FREE small business courses from LRS Consulting on Business Planning, Money/Marketing/Management, and Cash Flow.
Businesses can utilize the RCED office anytime to find the resources they need to grow for FREE. Give us a call 785-374-3047 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
This is the story of one chef’s dream to turn a Wabash institution into the restaurant he has always wanted. It’s a dream that has consumed Harry and Judy Kilmer since the day they bought The Old Kettle in 2011. Thousands of dollars in, turning a former bar into a pub and grill remains elusive, despite the couple’s best intentions. They needed a nudge forward to help turn a vision into reality, bringing Harry’s Old Kettle Pub & Grill to life.
Amanda Brinkman and Robert Herjavec dug into the business with Harry and Judy, finding good cash flow but the lack of a business plan. In episode two, we show him how things like menu design and being findable online are critical to having a successful restaurant. Together, we help him make his restaurant dreams a reality, with a few special surprises along the way.
