RCED is now on Instagram

What is Instagram?

“Instagram is a fun and quirky way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. Snap a photo with your mobile phone, then choose a filter to transform the image into a memory to keep around forever. We’re building Instagram to allow you to experience moments in your friends’ lives through pictures as they happen. We imagine a world more connected through photos.” – http://instagram.com/about/faq/#

Why is RCED using Instagram?

Instagrampost Instagram is a great way to “show off” amazing photos taken in Republic County by us and our friends. You can find links to our Instagram (@RepCoED) account on our website and Facebook Page.

Instagram users can search for photos using hastags (#). Doing this “tags” photos with a descriptive keyword so others can find the photos people have posted about a topic. For example people may hashtag #Kansas when posting photos. And to find recent photos about that topic I simply use my Instagram app (on iPhone or Android device) or search on www.gramfeed.com for “#Kansas” to find those photos. Your search may yield a photo like the one we just posted today on our @RepCoED account.

Our first Instagram post from the NCK Free Fair in 2012. It is one of the largest free fairs in Kansas. Great 4-H livestock shows and entries, rides, the floral hall, vendors, entertainment, food, and home of the Midget Nationals held on the historic Belleville High Banks (the fastest 1/2 mile dirt track in the world!). #Kansas #kansasweather #Kansassky #Kansasskies #Kansasag #Kansassunset #countyfair #fair #boardwalk #ferriswheel #carnival #midgetnationals #bellevillekansas #Belleville #republiccounty #repcoks

Notice the last hashtag we used #repcoks, we plan to tag all of our photos using this hashtag so everyone can find Republic County specific photos. We urge everyone who wants to share their awesome photos of Republic County to use this hashtag so we a one-stop-shop for great photos from people living, traveling, and working in Republic County.

Don’t know what to take pictures of? Try some of these:
