KR-92 FM radio station in Belleville will host the North Central Kansas Health Care Foundation Radiothon all day on Thursday, November 4.
During the annual event, which raises pledges for the physician recruitment fund, local physicians, hospital staff and patients take to the airwaves to discuss the health care options Republic County offers to residents of North Central Kansas and South-Central Nebraska.
“We have the potential to recruit several physicians in the next few years,” says Deanna Morris, NCKHCF chair. “With the continued support of donors, funds to recruit will be available when we need them.”
Morris said that the Foundation asks donors to call in pledges to 785-527- 2266 that day and consider mailing checks in order to limit traffic at the radio station. “The Radiothon has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of pledges to the Foundation over the history of this event,” she said.
“We can’t thank KR-92 owner Deb Sasser enough for the donation of his day of airtime and her commitment to health care in our community, as well as all Jesy Strnad does to help us throughout the day.”
Republic County Hospital will host a Health Fair at the Crossroads Thursday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Appointments are required to accommodate social distancing, by calling 785-527-6055. A variety of lab draws are available at a reduced cost.
