Housing Meeting Recap

RCED’s housing meeting January 29th, 2014 was nearly to capacity with upwards of 40+ (that’s how many handouts we had and we ran out of those before everyone came in). It was great to see wide array of attendees with positive comments and ideas. RCED is going to use the comments and forms to move forward with more focused conversations on how communities can help in developing housing.

Below you can look through our presentation, which has some information for anyone interested in housing in Republic County.

You are invited to attend the Republic County Housing Meeting hosted by Republic County Economic Development. The meeting will be held at the Belleville City Office on Wednesday January 29, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

This meeting is open to the public. Those with vested interest in housing in Republic County are encouraged to attend. This meeting will be most useful for local government officials, city council members, employers, contractors, landlords, and community volunteers. There will be a presentation first followed by discussion on action steps regarding housing development.

Presenting information and resources at this meeting will be Republic County Economic Development, North Central Regional Planning, and Kansas Department of Commerce officials. Provided there is time we will allow questions and comments following each presentation.

Republic County has seen economic development success we are at a pivotal point where our communities can become more sustainable for growth. The meeting is meant to be a starting point where we, as a county, can unify our efforts to promote housing development with shared resources and ideas. RCED is more than willing to follow up with you and or your community following this meeting to address specific housing needs.
