Help the economy

Meeting to address local opportunities for growth

Entrepreneurship is a Team Effort is the theme of a public meeting Monday night, June 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Blair Theater in Belleville, hosted by Republic County Economic Development and Network Kansas.

The meeting will discuss results of a study conducted by the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship that reveals ways the county’s economy can grow in the future.

Don Macke, Director of CRE will join the meeting via video conference and Luke Mahin from RCED will provide insight into recent reports on opportunities for Republic County. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in a short discussion following the presentation.

The study targets several areas of opportunity in Republic County: the growth in numbers of residents ages 30-34; ways to attract young retirees to rural communities; commuter populations that both live in Republic County and work elsewhere, and those who drive into Republic County to work.
