In 2008 technology burst onto the scene at Pike Valley High School which impacted the function of the library. The library lost its’ luster and was doomed to almost extinction. The book inventory went downhill, the services of a librarian were halted due to budget cuts, the room became a storage space and the doors became locked.
After seeing our library get to the stage where there was no way to check out materials, a group of students formed a committee to “Bring Back the Library.” Our vision is to provide a functional, current and aesthetically pleasing environment with needed and desired services, that invites students back into the library, encourages reading and studying, and creates a culture of reading at the high school.
