Construction began last week on a building at the corner of M and 24th ST that will become the new home of BRB Services. Owner Brad Boyer said he hopes the new 2,500 sq. ft. building will be ready by summer. “We ran out of room quite a while ago,” Boyer said Monday of his current space, which he shares with United First Agency at the corner of 20th and M ST. “We probably should have done this five years ago. “Having more workspace for our employees has been long overdue, but what I’m also excited for is that we will now have the capacity to bring interns here during tax season,” he said. “I’ve had some exceptional students in the past that inquired about completing their internships with us, and unfortunately we just didn’t have the space. That will no longer be the case.”

Boyer said his current office space is about 700 sq. ft.

The new building on vacant lots south of Food Mart will showcase local contractors Terry Skinner, Heath Hoge, and Randy Junek of Hood’s Electric, and building supplies from Belleville Hometown Lumber, Boyer said.

Boyer said he is excited about not just his business opportunities in Republic County, but with other positive steps as well, including the passage of the USD 109 school bonds.

“I don’t think the US81 corridor is done yet,” he said in reference to new businesses and expansion in that area.

Boyer and his wife, Jill, have a son, Brody. Other staff of BRB Services includes Dawn Morley, accountant; Joni Latham, bookkeeper; and Shanae Spear, tax office manager/accountant
