Barn Quilt added at the Museum

The ‘Swedish Bloom’ quilt block pattern, with a dala horse in the center, was selected by the Larson family of Courtland, to honor their ancestor Arvid Larson who owned the barn.  Paul and Beverly Freeman of Courtland later owned the barn and then donated it to the Republic County Historical Society Museum.

The barn was restored in bright red tin earlier this year by Jack Gritten of Scandia. Karen Lewis painted the barn quilt. Brian Isaacson used two hoist trucks with Travis Weatherhead and Jake Williams assisting. Peter Dahl helped by providing his flatbed truck.
