2022 Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

Republic County, KS – Republic County Economic Development, in association with the Network Kansas E-Community Partnership, will host the 6th annual Republic County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Monday, March 7th at Republic County Jr/Sr High School in the new gym.  Eight teams made up of nine students will compete from Republic County and Pike Valley High schools for over $1,500 in prizes money for their business ideas.

The public is welcome to view the YEC tradeshow beginning at 6:00 pm. Guests will also hear from Plum Crazy Boutique our entrepreneur speakers Deanna and former YEC student Emma Morris on their new downtown business. Awards will be announced after 7:00 p.m.

Twelve judges from the county and region volunteer to score the business’s executive summaries, tradeshow, and presentations. The winner of the local competition earns an automatic bid for the statewide Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge at KSU in April 28th, 2022. Other students can apply for a bid to state through a wildcard selection process.

Also on display during the presentation were art projects by RCHS and PVHS art students who created art featuring a Republic County entrepreneur. This was possible thanks to a Network Kansas grant for $250 for supplies to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week in November.
